XLink-ONE is a professional AV over IP platform that transmits uncompressed HDMI 2.1 video and audio over standard Gigabit Ethernet networks. An encoder captures the source signal and streams it across the IP network; one or more decoders receive the stream and output it to connected displays. The system uses multicast technology, meaning a single encoder can serve unlimited decoders simultaneously without bandwidth multiplication.
XLink-ONE products support a range of resolutions depending on the model. The BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-W and BG-IPGEAR-XTREME support 4K@120Hz 4:4:4. The BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-F and BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-PRO support up to 8K@60Hz (4:2:2 DSC) and 4K@144Hz (4:4:4). All models support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, VRR, and ALLM.
XLink-ONE operates over standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure. You need a managed switch with IGMP Snooping enabled to support multicast traffic. Cat.5e or Cat.6 cabling is supported for copper deployments. For fiber variants (BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-F), single-mode or multi-mode fiber is used. No proprietary networking hardware is required.
XLink-ONE uses IP multicast, which means a single encoder can feed an unlimited number of decoders (displays) simultaneously. The network bandwidth does not increase with additional decoders as long as multicast is properly configured on the switch. This makes XLink-ONE highly scalable for large installations such as stadiums, campuses, and transportation systems.
Yes, selected XLink-ONE models including the BG-IPGEAR-XTREME-W support POE, allowing the device to be powered directly through the Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need for separate power supplies and simplifies installation, particularly for wall plate deployments and locations where power outlets are not readily available.
XLink-ONE achieves sub-1-frame end-to-end latency. This means the signal delay from encoder input to decoder output is less than a single video frame (under 8ms at 120Hz). This performance is critical for applications including competitive gaming (eSports), live broadcast production, surgical imaging, and any other use case where real-time responsiveness is required.
Yes. All XLink-ONE products include RS-232 serial control and bi-directional IR pass-through, enabling integration with third-party control systems including Crestron, Control4, Savant, AMX, and others. The system can also be managed via IP control (TCP/UDP), web GUI, and the BZBGEAR Switch Control software application available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
Yes. XLink-ONE employs AES-256 encryption for all video, audio, and data transmissions across the IP network. This ensures that content is protected from interception and can only be accessed by authorised devices. AES-256 encryption is the same standard used in financial and government applications, making XLink-ONE suitable for medical, corporate, and broadcast environments where content security is mandatory.
XLink-ONE products manufactured by BZBGEAR carry a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal use conditions. For full warranty terms and conditions, visit bzbgear.com/warranty. Technical support is available by phone at (888) 499-9906 or by email at support@bzbgear.com.
For basic point-to-point or multicast operation: (1) Connect the encoder to your video source via HDMI or USB-C. (2) Connect both encoder and decoder(s) to a managed Gigabit switch with IGMP Snooping enabled. (3) Power the devices via POE or included power supply. (4) Connect the decoder HDMI output to your display. The system will auto-configure for basic operation. For advanced matrix switching, video wall, and KVM configurations, use the BZBGEAR Switch Control application or web GUI. Refer to the Quick Start Guide and User Manual available in the Downloads section above.
